We decided to do smoothies again at counter next to Eggs N Things and headed out for the North Shore. Of course, we had to stop by TED’S BAKERY for delicious treats and coffee. High marks!
SHARK’S COVE
A-mazing snorkeling. Loved it. So clear. Saw turtles. I was so happy. We were all in heaven. It was Beautiful and much better than I expected. We also hit Three Tables which was also good but I’d give Shark’s Cove the edge for clarity. It’s tricky getting down there on the rocks.
Time for lunch: SHARK’S COVE GRILL Good but pricier than expected.
LANAIKA BEACH
No turtles on the beach but many in the water. They were HUGE and totally awesome [Crush]. So cool and volunteers were super friendly and informative. We really enjoyed this stop. [45 min or so]
WAIMEA BAY
We didn’t want to pay $10 to park [aka cheap husband lol] and it was really crowded; there was a big crowd on the rock too…we found a spot in a neighborhood with a scary path to waimea bay…so if you’re brave go for it [path was fine til the end where you had to rock climb down and if you fell it was rocks you were hitting not sand]….we walked back and moved on….
Haleiwa town
Cute and much smaller than expected. Shopped for a bit. Time for more shave ice: Matsumoto. Line was crowded before we shopped but minimal after [5:30 or so]. We enjoyed it but not as much as the first place so this is #2 out of 3 in Oahu.
Time to head back….gas @ Costco [saved 30c per gallon]; drop off snorkel gear in after hour box at snorkel bob’s; and had our last meal in OAHU …..RAINBOW DRIVE-IN….we all enjoyed our meals and it was cheapest meal $28 for 5 people with drinks. Swam and packed for our next adventure. We were all happy with our time in Oahu.
