Wednesday Day 1 We arrived about 9:30am and were leaving the car rental lot by 10:30am. We booked rentals through discounthawaiicarrental and all went smoothly.
Since this was a 3 island adventure; we needed to pack light. We did pretty good! 5 Carry-ons + Personal Bags and 1 Checked Bag full of full-size sun lotions; toiletries; etc.
Lunch at Monicos. Good food and a bit pricey. Next we drove by both falls to enjoy the views. Wow. Really cool.
Mema wanted to go to this place….ha!
Made it to Hanalei Bay Resort and we were able to check right in. Our units were amazing as I mentioned. Hubby and kids went swimming while MIL and I hit foodland. Nice store. Pricey and thankfully MIL treated.
Our unit was 6303-6304. This was a lovely unit. Amazing lanai view. Nicely decorated and well stocked kitchen. MIL stayed in the 6304 suite which was great because she could close the door to escape or leave it open to be with us. She was also able to share our ktichen and laundry. She had a beautiful view on her lanai as well.

Mom and Dad stayed in 4221 [jebett] which was also a suite and lovely. They would have preferred a true kitchen but loved the unit and amazing views.
The resort is lovely. The pool and hot tub are very nice and the grounds are lovely. We had a quiet pool right below our unit which was nice. The kids enjoyed it. I walked down to the beach just to check it out. It’s ok, but I’d rather drive a little to get to nicer beaches.
Back to resort to relax. Headed to Chevron to get some burgers. They had a weird power outage so had shut down the kitchen. Everyone got Lapperts and grabbed deli sandwiches at Foodland to eat on the lanai. Nice!
