Our last full day! ;o(
We decided to hit La Perousa Bay to hike and check it out and work our way back.
It was a blast. Beautiful area. Great drive.
Grabbed shave ice at Jawz Food Truck. It was the worst shave ice on the trip. It was like a snow cone. Not shave ice. But hubby did get a fish taco to share and oh my….good. So if you see the truck don’t get shave ice but get fish tacos! Sorry picture was after already destroyed it and ate one…it’s good.
We wanted to check out Big Beach. Couldn’t find a place to change. Beach was nice but not as ‘big’ as I expected. Back in the car and headed to Ulua Beach [saw on map there were outdoor showers and bathrooms]. Changed and hit the beach. We enjoyed this beach. I took a walk on the beachwalk while family played frisbee in the water. Walked past the Marriott around the corner so I could see Wailea Beach. Super crazy busy. Umbrellas everywhere. Walked the other way. Couldn’t figure out how to get past Andaz. It turned into a sand path…super hot on my feet so hit the water and walked back…was trying to figure out if Ekahi Village had a path to beach as we almost stayed there [was my first choice but this vacation is all about compromise. lol].
Time goes so fast…it was already time to head back towards home…we head to Kihei and grabbed lunch at Coconuts because I had read they had awesome fish tacos…oh my deliciousness. We all loved our meals but those tacos are fantastic.
Made it back to Honua Kai in time for all 5 of us to take turns showering [when you really wish you had 2 baths]…and leave at 4:15 to grab folks and head to Kaanapali Beach Hotel to check in for our 5pm Aloha sail with Trilogy.
We had a great time. It was a perfect night for sailing. Winds were blowing. The sunset was beautiful and Joshua the musician was wonderful. Drinks were great and snacks were also very good. A nice Exclamation Point to end our vacation. Note the matching Aloha Shirts. My son was so excited to buy them. Tim wore it proudly.
Later we checked into Lelaini’s Beachside and wandered around Whaler’s Village. There was a great jazz group playing. It was very nice. I got my stash of cookies to bring home to everyone.
We were buzzed earlier than expected to our table. After ordering our food, Tim took the kids to wander around while waiting….and they surprised me with a ring from Ha Noku. Super sweet! The meal was very good. I enjoyed the atmosphere much more at the Barefoot Bar but there were more choices here.
